Tomorrow’s Designers, Designing Today will include three dialogues, moderated by Svafa Grönfeldt:
- Justin Brazier and Sheila Kennedy
Justin is an architect who studies how design enhances cultural identity, agriculture, environmental education, and economic sovereignty through the development of the Green Innovation Corridor that will run through Boston’s Mattapan and Dorchester neighborhoods.
Sheila Kennedy is a professor of Architecture at MIT, founding principal in Kennedy & Violich Architecture Ltd., and Justin's advisor.
- Jana Saadi and Maria Yang
Jana is an engineer and designer who investigates the interaction between designers and computational design tools throughout the design process.
Maria, Gail E. Kendall (1978) Professor of Mechanical Engineering, founder and director of MIT’s Ideation Lab, is Jana's advisor. She is also MAD's associate director.
- Jonathan Zong and Arvind Satyanarayan
Jonathan is a designer, computer scientist, and artist using design to empower marginalized individuals and communities, primarily blind and low-vision people. He creates tools for multi-sensory data analysis, making complementary use of graphics, description, and sound, thus allowing data to be more accessible to all.
Arvind is Associate Professor of Computer Science and director of the MIT CSAIL Visualization Group, as well as Jonathan's advisor.
Our events are enriched by your presence and we are committed to making them accessible.
