Community and food security for the Boston area

Introduction

Architecture graduate Justin Brazier leverages his passion for food and intimate knowledge of local communities to uplift underserved neighborhoods in Boston. Inspired by his Haitian heritage, Brazier tackles urban landscape challenges in Mattapan and Dorchester by bringing portable community kitchens to urban farms, fostering food security, and supporting livelihoods.to access socioeconomic opportunities and critical infrastructure.

Solution & Impact

Brazier’s solution addresses urban food insecurity and strengthens community bonds by introducing portable community kitchens to Boston’s Mattapan and Dorchester neighborhoods. This initiative not only provides access to fresh food but also creates communal spaces for cooking, socializing, and sharing cultural traditions. Through his design skills and cultural insight, Brazier contributes to urban revitalization and addresses systemic disparities in these communities.
