Making at MAD
The MIT Morningside Academy for Design (MAD) offers resources for makers across the MIT community through the Design Plus first-year learning community, Making And Design designation classes, Design Major/Minor, and design-focused events throughout the year. MAD also supports shops dedicated to specific classes and programs, such as the D-Lab shop.

The W41 fabrication shops are home to a number of undergraduate classes focusing on design across multiple majors, the DesignPlus Learning Community, and the greater MIT community. Our shops have a wide variety of equipment to accommodate projects across disciplines, types of materials, and working both traditionally and digitally.
